Increasing email acquisitions for HISTORY.com

The team at HISTORY.com came to me for a creative way to drive signups to their Inside HISTORY newsletter, which was suffering from low readership. My solution was to add a collection module to the site’s “Topics” section. Site visitors to this section would be interested in the content of the newsletter, so this was a natural placement.

The collection module was added across all Topic pages, so visitors would see it no matter which Topic page they landed on. As visitors scroll to read the article, they are further enticed to sign up as the module expands to reveal the email input field. In just the first week following its launch, the collector accounted for 43% of total visitor email acquisitions.
